Rodolfo Serrano was born in Villamanta (Madrid) in 1947. He studied journalism at the Complutense University of Madrid. As a journalist, he has received the Giménez Abad Award from the Government of Aragon for Best Parliamentary Chronicle for his writing in El País, and the Mesonero Romanos Award for his collection of articles Historias de Madrid. He has written history books, essays, and novels. He has published nine books of poetry. Many of his poems have been set to music by Ismael Serrano, Manuel Cuesta, Fran Fernández, Andrés Molina, Antonio Sanz, París Joel, Emiliano del Río, or Javi Nervio.
