SUMMARY:Madrid Noir: Three Voices. Meeting with the authors Paco Gómez Escribano and David Llorente\, accompanied by Raúl Nieto de la Torre.
DESCRIPTION:Paco Gómez Escribano is the author of twelve novels\, the last ten belonging to the noir genre. From his neighbourhood of Canillejas\, he explores universal themes such as marginalisation\, crime\, addiction\, lack of opportunities and urban speculation. With Manguis he won the Novelpol Prize in 2016. Two years later he won the Ciudad de Santa Cruz Award at the Tenerife Noir Festival with the novel Cuando gritan los muertos. He has also received the Estandarte Prize\, the Negra y Mortal Prize\, and has been three times finalist for the Dashiell Hammett Prize at the Semana Negra de Gijón. He has also been finalist for the Pata Negra Prize at the University of Salamanca and twice finalist for the Cartagena Negra Prize. \nDavid Llorente (1973) was born in Madrid. During his university years he wrote the novels Kira and El bufón\, which won the Francisco Umbral Short Novel Prize and the Ramón J. Sender Narrative Prize\, respectively. In 2002 he moved to Prague (Czech Republic)\, where he created Séptimo Miau\, his theatre group. With this company he travelled throughout most countries of Central and Eastern Europe\, performing plays that he himself wrote and directed\, receiving several international awards.
