Antonio Hernández (Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz, 1943 – Cádiz, 2024) is one of the great names in contemporary Spanish poetry, an author whose career spanned more than five decades of constant creation. Through poetry, novels and essays, he traced a literary journey of exceptional coherence. His work, rigorous and profoundly human, has been translated into Arabic, Catalan, Portuguese, French and Italian. His poetry, heir to the Andalusian tradition and open to universal influences, is at once song and conscience.
